Dear “about to be married” couple,
I am a South African, my husband is Lebanese and we live in Nigeria. We had our wedding in Cape Town, due to the fact that it is the most beautiful spot in South Africa and our international guests would definitely benefit from having it there. As a result all of my family flew in from the Johannesburg area and my husband’s friends and family flew in from all over the world (Hong Kong, London, Switzerland, Dubai, Beirut, etc).
First off, Cape Town was the most genius place to have the wedding and I am so happy that I got to benefit from the beauty of the city. But most importantly, all our international guests absolutely LOVED it! They turned their trip into a week long holiday and enjoyed the weather, food, wine and tourist attractions to such an extent that for months after they were thanking us for giving them an excuse to visit SA for the first time. So, I hope I’ve given some input into how amazing and perfect Cape Town can be as a wedding destination.
Then, by some miracle through a casual mention of a friend of mine, I got to Kirsty. Well, what a life save. My wedding planning was not going too well thanks to a rather dodgy planner and once I found Kirsty the old one was fired and Kirsty saved the day! What an amazing experience working with Kirsty and Bev! I connected with them immediately, they listened to my wants and needs and then catered the planning perfectly around that. We met up once for a 6-hour meeting in Cape Town. After that we liaised only on email and by phone as I was in Nigeria and Beirut. Kirsty was methodical about timelines and keeping me informed every step of the way with what was happening. She took care of absolutely everything including all my guests’ travel, transfer and accommodation and I literally handed all responsibility over to her. The planning process proved to be as easy as pie, thanks only to the brilliant Kirsty!
Then came the wedding day itself. It was absolutely perfect! Every little thing we had discussed was there, the venue looked incredible, every little detail was exactly as I had imagined it – and that was thanks to Kirsty being able to take my vision and turn it into reality without me being in the same city!!!
More than that, Kirsty has become a friend through the process. I am so lucky to have met her and I think she’s just fantastic! What a pleasant, pleasurable and easy process planning a wedding can be – if you have the right person on the other side.
I wish you all the best, and remember to ENJOY it – the drama and family issues can become overwhelming (and even then Kirsty was there for advice for me!!) - so try and keep each moment about yourselves and your amazing day!
